Details to Consider
Your web site consists of the following elements:
1. Domain Name. Your domain name, such as www.emanuelbiz.com is your web site address. Without it, your web site cannot be found.
Tip: Choose a company specific domain name and several variations of the name just in case the name is already taken.
2. Layout. When you look at a web site like this one, you notice that there is a title bar / banner at the top of the screen with navigation buttons located at the top. An alternative could be navigation to your left or a title bar that is both located at the top and left. The content (words you write about your entity), and photos fill the other areas of your site. The Design Checklist gives some suggestions on how to decide on a layout.
Tip: Most people view or read web sites from the top left and gradually move their eyes to the right and bottom.
3. Content. What would you like to say about your entity? Each page of your site must include messages, information, articles, or other readable print.
Tip: Gather brochures, articles, mission statements, history information, product / service information, and flyers for your entity that can be used to fill in the content on your site.
4. Media. Photos, music, and video footage can enhance the appearance and appeal of your site. Stock photos that relate to your products or services are available but personal or company photos add to the custom feel of your site.
Tip: Only about five out of every twenty photos are truly "web worthy" so take and gather as many photos as possible.
